GUYS! I have cracked the code. The code of how to create better than store bought Rice Krispie Treats!! The trick? Well, there are a few but they are so so easy! I mean, look at those bad boys!

First of all, your buttery to gooey to dry ingredient ratio must be correct. The standard Rice Krispie Treats call for 3 tablespoons of butter, 1 10 ounce bag of marshmallows and 6 cups of Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal. I am all about that buttery gooeyness, and that is one element to this recipe that I feel helps it claim the title of Best Rice Krispie Treats EVER.

Next, we're on to the 'buttery' part of this post. Butter will always make things taste better. Browning your butter will take your desert to the next level. Don't believe me? Well, the only way to prove me wrong is by trying it and I am telling you guys, you will not go back. It creates almost this nutty flavor that elevates your dish, giving this simple dessert an elegant twist.

The white chocolate is not necessary, but it is seriously delicious. You can use milk or dark chocolate and of course it would be good, chocolate on anything is good! However, the white chocolate meldges so harmoniously with the brown butter and marshmellows it's like heaven on a plate. Seriously, even if you aren't a huge white choco fan, don't knock this till you try it :)
Ingredients:
7 Tablespoons of butter
10 ounces mini marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
5 cups Rice Krispies
8 ounces whites chocolate, melted
1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
Directions:
Take your 9x13 pan and spray with nonstick cooking spray, set aside. Now, the first step is to brown the butter. Melt your butter in a large pan (one you would boil water in). Once melted, continually stir until the butter just begins to brown. The butter should foam up and then begin to give off almost a nutty aroma. Immediately remove from heat so the butter does not burn.
Stir in vanilla. The hot mixture will bubble up, so continue to stir an additional thirty seconds until the sizzling subsides. Add in salt.
Add in half of your marshmallows and mix until almost completely melted before adding the remaining. Stir until entirely combined and melted. At this point, add in the Rice Krispies until mix until everything is evenly combined.
Pour mixture into the pan and evenly distribute. I find the best way to do this is to get your hands dirty, literally! Spray nonstick cooking spray on your hands and press down your mixture evenly.
After that is done, take your melted white chocolate (you can easily do this in 20 second intervals in the microwave) and using a spoon or piping bag drizzle it over the top! While it is still wet, sprinkle your sprinkles on the white chocolate, and whalaa!
