I always thought my mama's meatballs were the best meatballs I have ever had! I remember watching her as a kid start the process the day before by laying out her bread to dry, mixing everything in a huge bowl with her bare hands and how much love went into the process.

Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
3/4 lb. ground beef
3 hot Italian sausage links
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, chopped small (about 1 cup)
1 egg
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons freshly chopped basil
2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup smashed Saltine crackers
For the sauce:
1/2 cup red wine
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes
1 small onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 green pepper, chopped
Directions:
Remove Italian sausages from casing by cutting the film and squeezing the meat out into a large bowl. Add ground beef, garlic, onions, egg, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Also add 2 tablespoon of chopped basil and parsley along with the cup of Saltines.
Using your hands, mix ingredients until everything is evenly distributed throughout.
